The Classic White Kitchen Deconstructed

Regional Award Winner KDC 2010-12

In the design stages of this kitchen, many considerations were taken into account. For the family of six, functionality became of primary concern, while still addressing the couple’s penchant for frequent entertaining. Centrally nestled in the home, the kitchen needed to be functional and beautiful so that it reflected a casual elegance that felt dressed up enough for a party, yet relaxed for everyday family gatherings.

Elements such as inset doors, furniture kicks on non-working areas and a lofty crown created a layered effect in the millwork and gave this classic, all-white kitchen dimension and depth. Polished nickel plumbing, hardware and custom grilles on feature cabinets along with the island pendants added polish and refinement. Parameter counters as well as the backsplash were done in Calacutta Gold marble juxtaposed by a walnut counter on the island. A 60” Wolf Range takes center stage on the main kitchen elevation and is complimented by the 36” Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer on the opposite run, creating an ideal working area. Tucked around the corner is a full wet bar which opens up to a receiving vestibule.
