Q&A with Enrique de la Concha

Where do you find design inspiration?
In the combination of natural and contemporary materials. We use contract between forms, textures and colors. We like to play unity with order.

How do you approach the design process?
We are always trying to make an oasis and a refuge to our clients, not letting them know whether they are inside or outside. We like to bring the outside in and the inside, out.

How does your aesthetic stand out amongst other designers/architects?
We do not settle, we keep on searching for more.

What is the greatest value you provide your client?
Honesty, order, unique and imaginative designs. God is in the details.

What is your biggest challenge as a designer/architect?
To try to reach the essence of our search.

What does the Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen Design Contest mean to you?
The opportunity to show our work outside of Mexico.

What are some of the current design trends?
      Return to basics.

Where do you see kitchen design going in the next 5 years?
We see kitchens as a very important place in the home design, as a point of reunion and an area that is going to be integrated into the home public space, because it’s a place to show, not to hide.
