3rd Place Contemporary Kitchen Award Winner 2019-2021
Because their clients were good cooks, they wanted high-end kitchen appliances along with plenty of prep and storage areas. Designer Stéphane Rasselet, decided to integrate the refrigerator and built-in ovens by placing them on the same raw steel wall as the wood-fired pizza oven, which was the focal point of the kitchen. The selection of appliances helped define some of the kitchen finishes. By limiting the selection to stainless steel, raw steel, oak veneer, and a concrete kitchen floor, Rasselet was able to obtain harmony in terms of materiality.

Creating two islands with a long counter facing the view was key to the design. One of the challenges Rasselet faced was integrating the Wolf ventilation into a suspended wood veneered box and read it as a design element in the kitchen. He was able to do that by orienting the Wolf range and hood on one island and seating guests on the other island closer to the living room. None of it would be possible without the selection of Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances resonating with the highly crafted architecture. Now guests are able to enjoy the décor of the countryside while their hosts prep meals.
