Canyon Kitchen

Regional Award Winner KDC 2010-12

"This kitchen was designed for a large custom home where it is heavily used for everyday cooking and catering for large events. My challenge was to create a very functional and ergonomically efficient kitchen using semiprofessional equipment which could blend into a family open plan great room environment. I wanted to maintain the light, open feeling in keeping with the architecture and landscape.

The versatility of the modular Sub-Zero 700 series met the customer’s requirements in a very functional way , allowing the two lesser used 700BFI freezer drawers to be located below two side by side 30” L series built in ovens. Also located in the main tall run are a fully integrated 700TR refrigerator and fully integrated 427R wine cooler with beverage drawers.

In addition, I was able to plan in built-under 700BR produce drawer in the island prep area. We were able to achieve all of our design goals by creating a double island using durable aluminum fronts and stainless steel tops in the cooking and wet areas. Most of the large equipment was blended into a wood paneling system that we carried through the entire great room."
